Areas of Service.
Life Transitions
New graduates, newly engaged, newly married, first time parents, moving, new job, changing careers, caring for aging parents, grief/loss and more are all considered Life Transitions. These times of change can bring up different emotions that can be processed through therapy.
Pregnant/Postpartum & Parenting
There are so many changes when experiencing the creation of new life, not only for the mother, for the father as well and even the siblings. All and any issues, emotions, physical and mental can be processed through sessions with your counselor.
Infertility, Miscarriage, Abortion
This very specific type of grief and loss needs to be recognized and processed. The non judgemental aspect of therapy will be very prominent here. These are losses that are not easily understood alone. A high expectation of compassion, love and support will be apparent from your therapist.
Anxiety & Depression
We all experience anxiety and/or depression in different ways. Symptoms may be similar, but the origin of our anxiety or depression can differ greatly from person to person. Digging deep and reflecting honestly about where these issues may have started will be key to finding deep healing. Then the daily process of making small changes and accomplishments will give yourself the opportunity to work toward peace and purpose.
Trauma & Abuse
Many clients have varying symptoms due to past or present trauma and/or abuse. These experiences can affect our daily life dramatically. The goal here would be to assess current safety from harm and make changes from there. We will continue to acknowledge and process those experiences in order to make healthy choices and create a more peaceful perspective.
Catholic Spirituality
Religion can be a great strength, but can also come up as a confusing aspect in our journey, sometimes we cannot understand why God would let such difficulties or sufferings happen to us or others in the world. Sometimes we wonder if God is with us when we suffer. Talking with a counselor that is rooted in a similar tradition can help you navigate how you experience these moments. When it is combined with deep mental health issues or traumas it will be important to be patient with yourself as we work together in understanding God’s role in your life.
